    Gd 도핑된 비스무스 텔루라이드의 자기적 성질에 대한 제일원리 계산 연구

    Determination of the structural, electronic, and magnetic properties of the magnetically doped bismuth-telluride alloys are drawing lots of interest in the fields of the thermoelectric application as well as the research on magnetic interaction and topological insulator. In this study, we performed the first-principles electronic structure calculations within the density functional theory for the Gd doped bismuth-tellurides in order to study its magnetic properties and magnetic phase stability. All-electron FLAPW (full-potential linearized augmented planewave) method is employed and the exchange correlation potentials of electrons are treated within the generalized gradient approximation. In order to describe the localized f-electrons of Gd properly, the Hubbard +U term and the spin-orbit coupling of the valence electrons are included in the second variational way. The results show that while the Gd bulk prefers a ferromagnetic phase, the total energy differences between the ferromagnetic and the antiferromagnetic phases of the Gd doped bismuth-telluride alloys are about ~1meV/Gd, indicating that the stable magnetic phase may be changed sensitively depending on the structural change such as defects or strains.

    PbWO4: Gd 단결정 내의 Gd3+ 상자성 이온에 대한 바닥 상태 에너지

    Ground state energy levels of Gd3+ ion (effective spin S = 7/2) in PbWO4 single crystal doped with Gd3+ paramagnetic impurity at tetragonal symmetry are calculated with spectroscopic splitting parameters and zero field splitting parameters using by effective spin Hamiltonian. It turns out that the zero field splitting energies of Gd3+ ion were the same regardless of the directions of PbWO4: Gd single crystal. The calculated energy differences for |± 7/2>↔|± 5/2>, |± 5/2>↔|± 3/2>, and |± 3/2>↔|± 1/2> transitions were 6.9574 GHz, 6.9219 GHz, and 15.8704 GHz, respectively when the applied magnetic field is zero. The calculated energy level diagrams were different for different directions of applied magnetic field. For B // a- and c-axis, the energy level diagrams are calculated and discussed.

    교환 결합력을 갖는 CoFe/MnIr 박막에서 강자성 공명 선폭의 각도 의존성 연구

    We analyzed the angular dependence of ferromagnetic resonance linewidth in exchange coupled CoFe/MnIr bilayers. The maximum and minimum linewidth was observed in the easy and hard direction of unidirectional anisotropy by exchange coupling, respectively, and it was well agreed with the angular dependence of exchange bias field. The maximum linewidth was due to the twist of CoFe magnetization near CoFe/MnIr interface from direction of pinned MnIr spin to direction of applied magnetic field. While, minimum linewidth more higher than that of CoFe was related to rotatable anisotropy field, and explained by easy axis distribution of MnIr grains.

    등가자기회로를 활용한 콜레노이드 타입 선형 액츄에이터 설계 알고리즘 개발

    This study proposes the design algorithm of an electromagnetic linear actuator with a divided coil excitation system, such as the colenoid (COL) system, using the equivalent magnetic circuit (EMC) method. Nowadays, the clamping device is used to hold workpiece in the electrically driven chucking system and is needed to produce a huge clamping force of 40 kN like hydraulic system. The design algorithm for electromagnetic linear actuator can be obtained using the EMC method. At first, the parameter map is used to decide the slot width ratio in the initial design. Next, to make the magnetic flux density uniform at each pole, the pole width is adjusted by the pole width adjusting algorithm with EMC. When the dimensions of the electromagnetic linear actuator are decided, the clamping force is calculated to check the desired clamping force. The design results show that it can be used to hold a workpiece firmly instead of using a hydraulic cylinder in a chucking system.

    Diameter Effect of Induced Voltage in Sensing Coil Buried in Projectile for Application of Air Bursting Munition

    We designed a model composed a ring type magnet, a yoke, and a sensing coil buried in a projectile for calculating the muzzle velocity based on the voltage induced from sensing coil by simulation. The muzzle velocity was calculated from the master curve obtained through the voltage induced from sensing coil by simulation. The induced voltage increased with increasing the diameter of sensing coil. The projectile’s velocity was proportional to the induced voltage when the sensing coil was buried in projectile. The projectile will be surely exploded at the target region by inputting the information of muzzle velocity variation corrected the diameter effect of induced voltage of sensing coil.

    Recently, cost of rare-earth magnets has been raised, because rare-earth magnets are monopolized and the export is also regulated in China. For this reason, the induction motor is operated without the rare-earth magnets. The efficient development of induction motor is more important for economical scheme. A torque of the induction motor is computed and the correlation between dimension and resistance of the squirrel cage rotor is investigated. Also, the correlation between leakage reactance and torque was analyzed with respect to the same dimension of rotor with different shapes. Therefore, this paper proposes the method of improvement for squirrel cage rotor.
