    페로브스카이트 구조를 가지는 CoFeX3(X = O, F, S, Cl) 합금의 자성과 전자구조에 대한 제일원리계산

    For an industrial spin-transfer torque (STT) MRAM, low switching current and high thermal stability are required, simultaneously. For this point of view, it is essential to find magnetic materials which satisfy high spin polarization and strong perpendicular magnetocrystalline anisotropy (MCA). In this paper, we investigate electronic structures and MCA energies of perovskite CoFeX3 (X = O, F, S, Cl). For X = F and Cl, spin polarization at the Fermi level are 97 % and 96 %, respectively, which are close to a half metal. Furthermore, Co-terminated 5-monolayer (ML) CoFeX3 (X = O, F, S, Cl) films show perpendicular MCA. In particular, the MCA energy of the Co-terminated CoFeCl3 is about 1.0 meV/cell which is three times larger than that of a 5-ML CoFe film. Therefore, we expect to realize a magnetic material with high spin polarization and strong perpendicular MCA energy by utilizing group 6 and 7 elements in the periodic table, and to contribute to commercializing of the STT-MRAM.

    반쪽 금속 호이슬러 화합물 Mn3Ga의 연 X선 방사광 분광 연구

    By employing photoemission spectroscopy (PES) and soft X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), the electronic structure of the candidate half-metallic antiferromagnet of Mn3Ga Heusler compound has been investigated. We have studied two ball-milled Mn3Ga powder samples, one after annealing and the other without annealing, respectively. Based on the Mn 2p XAS study, we have found that Mn ions are nearly divalent in Mn3Ga and that the Mn ions having the locally octahedral symmetry and those having the locally tetrahedral symmetry are both present in Mn3Ga. We have found relatively good agreement between the measured valence-band PES spectrum of Mn3Ga and the calculated density of states, which is in agreement with the half-metallic electronic structure of Mn3Ga.

    고압 균질기의 압력이 마그네타이트 나노입자의 자기 특성에 미치는 영향

    We report the effect of pressure varying from 0 to 1500 bar on the magnetic properties of magnetite nanoparticles synthesized from Fe(OH)2 suspension using a high pressure homogenizer without any dispersing agent and oxidant. The observed X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns showed that all the synthesized nanoparticles had the inverse spinel structure of magnetite. It was found from transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and XRD analysis that the average size of the synthesized magnetite particles could be controlled by the pressure of the high pressure homogenizer. The average particle size was found to range from 21 to 26 nm and decrease with increasing pressure. Magnetic hysteresis measurements performed at room temperature using a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) revealed the appearance of a superparamagnetic behavior in the magnetite nanoparticles synthesized at a pressure of 1500 bar.

    Sr-페라이트 자성 입자의 활성화 부피의 자기장 의존성

    In this study the mechanisms of magnetization reversal and magnetic interaction effects on activation volumes for Sr-ferrite with different particle sizes are investigated. The activation volumes of C2 sample are larger than those of C3 sample in the range of low magnetic fields. But the fields above the coercivity of sample C2, the activation volumes of both samples are decreased linearly with increasing the applied magnetic field. These phenomena can be explained by the strengths of two critical fields representing the reverse domain nucleation field and the domain wall pinning field as well as the strength of dipolar interaction.

    터널링 자기저항 소자의 교류 전압 및 주파수 의존성 연구

    In this report, we measured the impedance spectrum in TMR device, and the relaxation behavior of the real and imaginary impedance spectrum was analyzed by using the equilibrant circuit of tunneling capacitance (CT) and tunneling resistance (RT). The relaxation frequency was increased with AC voltage in both the parallel and antiparallel alignment of two magnetic layers. The RT with AC voltage showed the typical bias voltage dependence. However, the CT showed large value than the expected geometrical capacitance. The huge increase of CT was affecting as a limiting factor for the high speed operation of TMR devices. Thus, the supercapacitance of CT should be considered to design the high speed TMR devices.

    대형 전동기에서의 영구자석 철 받침대와 요크 간의 전자기 결합력 향상에 관한 연구

    The shape of a iron bed supporting a permanent magnet in a large-sized motor is a important factor for determining the coupling strength with the yoke. In a large-sized motor, there is a difference in electromagnetic force with the yoke depending on the shape of the iron bed. In this paper, we show the differences and problems by calculating the electromagnetic force between the double bed and the single bed through the virtual air gap, and show that the single bed is superior in terms of the binding force. It is also shown that the binding force between the bed and the yoke is improved by carving the groove shape under the bed.

    제주도 한라산 남부 지역 분석구 스코리아의 철 화합물에 관한 연구

    This study reviewed mineral composition on Scoria samples of this area, atomic value state of oxidized steel, and magnetic property in order to look into characteristics of scoria that was distributed in southern area of mountainous areas, Halla Mt. of Jeju Island. By XRD analysis, mineral composition was confirmed, and characteristics of iron compounds existed in samples were investigated through Mössbauer spectroscope. Composing minerals could be learnt as feldspar basalt from XRD analysis because composting minerals were composed of quartz and feldspar anorite mainly, and iron compounds were made up with olivine, pyroxene, ilmenite, hematite, and magnetite. By Mössbauer spectroscope analysis on these iron compounds. it consisted of hematite and magnetite which showed hyperfine magnetic field of sextet mostly, and also doublet by olivine, pyroxene, ilmenite could be seen as appearing together. As a result of comparing with samples of Jeju western area having been announced in previous research, I.S. and Q.S. values of olivine, Fe2+, were 122 mm/s and 3.09~3.13 mm/s respectively, and a fact could be known that Fe2+ olivine having similar structure each other was contained, and the ratio of Fe3+/Fetot. was 85.90~92.82%. From these findings, it was able to be presumed that they belonged to samples having been formed on the land at the same period of time. As a result of investigating area ratio of tetrahedron (A site) and octahedron (B site) regarding magnetite in samples, it was turn out to be 0.22~0.55 less than 2.

    슬관절 연골 평가를 위한 자기공명영상 검사 시 지방 신호 억제 3D T2* Weighted 기법과 지방 신호 억제 3D SPGR 기법의 비교 및 유용성 평가

    In this study, for assessment of degenerative knee joint cartilage disease we acquired images by fat suppressed 3D spoiled gradient recalled (SPGR) and fat suppressed 3D T2* weighted imaging techniques. To do a quantitative evaluation, the knee joint cartilage was divided into medial femoral cartilage (MFC), medial tibial cartilage (MTC), lateral femoral cartilage (LFC), lateral femoral cartilage (LFC) and patella cartilage (Pat) to measure their respective signal intensity values, signal-to-noise ratio, and contrast-to-noise ratio. As for the measured values, statistical significance between two techniques was verified by using Mann-Whitney U-Test. To do a qualitative evaluation, two radiologists have examined images by techniques after which image artifact, cartilage surface, tissue contrast, and depiction of lesion distinguishing were evaluated based on 4-point scaling (1: bad, 2: appropriate, 3: good, 4: excellent), and based on the result, statistical significance was verified by using Kappa-value Test. 3.0T MR system and HD T/R 8ch knee array coil were used to acquire images. As a result of a quantitative analysis, based on SNR values measured by using two imaging techniques, MFC, LFC, LTC, and Pat showed statistical significance (p < 0.05), but MTC did not (p > 0.05). As a result of verifying statistical significance for measured CNR value, MFC, LFC, and Pat showed statistical significance (p < 0.05), while MTC and LTC did not show statistical significance (p > 0.05). As a result of a qualitative analysis, by comparing mean values for evaluated image items, 3D T2* weighted Image has indicated a slightly higher value. As for conformance verification between the two observers by using Kappa-value test, all evaluated items have indicated statistically significant results (p < 0.05). 3D T2* weighted technique holds a clinical value equal to or superior to 3D SPGR technique with respect to evaluating images, such as distinguishing knee joint cartilages, comparing nearby tissues contrast, and distinguishing lesions.
